Chic At Home

The Art of the Virtual Hostess

Outfit Details: Top, Pants, Bracelet 1 & Bracelet 2.

Happy hours are a little different these days with everything being shut down.  I know I personally have so enjoyed zoom and FaceTime calls with my family and friends.  It is a nice way to connect and laugh during these times.  With Mother’s Day this weekend and lots of quarantine birthdays we thought it would be fun to do a group virtual happy hour.  One person sends out a drink and appetizer recipe and then everyone makes that same drink and app at home.  We cheers and catch up!  It is a fun way to try new recipes and cocktails (see both recipes at the bottom of the post).

Since happy hour is at home comfy clothes are a must.  If you don’t own any Barefoot Dreams blankets or sets trust me you need them in your life.  I just gifted my sister a set and she loves it.  Chicos has a fab selection of loungewear and Barefoot Dreams apparel. These pants are a dream.  I own both colors.  Like wearing your favorite blanket.  I paired them with this over-sized sweater for a neutral cozy look.

What’s On The Menu?

Black Bean Hummus Dip

  • 1 container of black bean hummus
  • Halved cherry tomatoes
  • Diced cucumbers
  • Slide green onions
  • Olive oil

Spread a layer of black bean hummus on a plate.  Top with cherry tomatoes, green onions, cucumbers.  Drizzle with olive oil and salt and pepper.

Watermelon Margarita

  • Half a watermelon juiced
  • 3 limes juiced
  • 2 oz of tequila per drink (we did 8oz)
  • 1 oz of triple sec per drink
  • Chile lime salt (preferred, but not necessary)

In a blender combine the juiced watermelon, triple sec, tequila, and juiced limes. You can serve over ice or add ice in for a more frothy drink. Line the rim with Chile lime salt if desired.

Cheers, friends! Stay safe, happy and healthy. Sending well wishes to you and yours!
